WHEN PLANNERS GET TOGETHER

We were asked by the always stunning Four Seasons Hotel in Baltimore to design an invitation for a very special luncheon for the best of the best wedding planners and stylists in the Baltimore/DC area. When the Four Seasons is involved, you can rest assured the event will be top-notch, and when said event is only for wedding planners who see these types of events every day, the designs must be top-notch as well. We were given a few specifics in terms of a "must-have" list in terms of a design, but was also given instructions to bring the wow factors. We needed to impress planners who see invitations day in and day out. Enter glitter backing paper. Paired with a modern design on front, flat printed on lettepress paper, the glitter backing paper in hot pink added that element of surprise we were all looking for.

For the day-of pieces, we choose a gold glitter paper utilized as a belly band. While ombre and watercolors are super hot right now in the invitation world, we picked bright and summery colors that would work well against the tablescapes.

A SANTA FE INVITATION WITH ALL THE DETAILS...

From the minute I met Reyna and Mike, I knew it would be a perfect match. They were super laid-back, super excited about their wedding, worked extremely well together and one of the nicest couples I have ever met. The icing on the cake was their Portegues Water Dog Moby that I completely fell in love with. Reyna is from New Mexico, Mike from Boston, and planning a wedding in Santa Fe with all the rich and vibrant colors of the iconic Santa Fe sunset. Although I am not sure it was on purpose, Reyna wore a shirt with the exact colors of the sunset, so you can imagine holding swatch books up to her shirt picking the perfect colors.

We decided to design a pocketfold invitation rich with not only color, but full of little details significant to Santa Fe. Each card in the suite was a different color, all with appropriate artwork to the location... hot air balloons, cactus desert landscpae, and the Zia artwork found on the New Mexico flag. More personal details included an envelope liner of the United States with pins pointing to where the couple is from. A highly custom-design invitation that was elegant and sophisticated.

INDUSTRIAL THEMED WEDDING INVITATIONS

So thrilled to have the opportunity to design my brother-in-law's wedding invitations to an amazing girl! With their reception at the BMI, we added little details throughout the invitation suite to reflect the industrial feel of the BMI along with personal touches of Baltimore. The bold typography and gears on the reception card, along with the color hits of a blush/peach soften this modern design just a bit creating a sophisticated invitation. Picking up the custom gear pattern from their save the dates, we double-side printed their invitations with the pattern on the back. All the cards in the suite were flat printed on a gorgeous bamboo letterpress paper. Jade1

A favorite design detail...the custom envelope liner of Locust Point where the couple lives. So perfect for this amazing Baltimore couple.

MEET THE CHARM CITY COLLECTION

Truth be told, this collection was in the works for quite a while and went through quite a bit of alterations in terms of design. The goal was to design a collection that was iconic to Baltimore, while also being sophisticated and work for casual weddings to the most formal of affairs. At first design, this invitation was super modern, almost "John Waters-esque" full of flamingos, beehives and bold typography. While I loved it, the design would only work for a limited number of brides and couples. So that design went by the wayside and we introduced a classic design with little touches of Baltimore. It is by far one of the most popular designs in the collection and works extremely well with just about any color palette. baltimore_wedding_invitations_crab

NEW WEBSITE!

We are so incredibly thrilled to launch our new website! It has been in the works since January, and well worth the wait. I worked with the amazingly talented Krista Jones (not only a web designer, but also an incredible photographer) to design the site. Our creative brief to Krista was a site that was warm and inviting, approachable and clean. I wanted to avoid anything overly-feminine and whimsical, and wanted the work to speak for itself so a crisp, clean design was the goal…and she absolutely delivered. It was a great experience working with someone who “got it” who also works in the wedding world as well and knows the ins and outs of our industry. In addition to a beautiful site, I also knew it was imperative to have gorgeous photography, enter Teri Pozniak from TPoz Photography. I have followed her work for years and have been in love with her style every since. She captures the personality of all her clients. Her photos speak for themselves. We could not have been more happy with her work and the photos for the site.

HOMEWOOD MUSEUM OPEN HOUSE

The latest venue to be announced in Baltimore is the Homewood Museum, situated on the grounds of Johns Hopkins University. Having been around since 1775, this "new" venue is technically not new, but has opened it's doors to weddings and other various events. The Museum is part of a trio of Hopkins historic venues, the other two being The George Peabody Library and The Evergeen Museum and Library. Just like the Peabody and Evergreen, the Homewood Museum is a stunning venue.

Just Ink On Paper was asked to provide the stationery for five distinct tables for the Open House on October 6th. Below are a few shots from the evening, courtesy of Jackson Photography. You can see more images here on the Jackson Photography blog.

On to the show...
